4 1/2

Easter marked our Chase's half birthday. He is getting so grown up and continuously cracks us up with his sense of humor and vocabulary. I asked him a few questions this morning to document his likes at the age of four and a half:

Favorite Color: Green
Favorite Food: Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Tomato Soup
Favorite Snack: String Cheese
Favorite Show: Scooby Doo
Favorite Sport: Soccer
Future occupation: Cowboy
Favorite toy: Swing at Grandma Sandy's House
Favorite thing to do: Catch bugs

We couldn't ask for a better son. Chase is thoughtful, caring and very lovable.
He is an amazing big brother and friend.

Easter Fun

I think I said that Thanksgiving was my favorite holiday, but really I think Easter is the best. I love the sunshine and spring colors of the Easter eggs. This was Max's first year coloring eggs and he got right down to business. Chase was the resident pro and showed his little brother the ropes.

The cousins got together to frost bunny cookies and do some egg hunting.

Max thought these two were hilarious!
Happy Easter!

The Family Farm

Aunt Angela is a farmer. She has all sorts of chickens, ducks and goats and we are lucky enough to get to visit whenever we want to. Here are some pictures of the fun we had last weekend.

Our little artist

Max has been showing a real interest in anything creative lately. He loves to write with sidewalk chalk, color and draw and he especially loves to paint! Several times I have gone into Chase's room and Max is chilling out on the bean bag drawing on Chase's little etch-a-scetch toy. I just wonder if it is a passing phase or if we will have a little artist on our hands.

Spring is here!

If you are a regular reader of this blog, you will remember a similar post last spring with Chase flying his kite. Well this year we have an addition to our kite flying family members.

Max was very excited to join in the festivities and he made that Spider Man kite soar!

Puddle Jumping

So far this spring has supplied us with a couple of really great rain storms......and what is the best thing about rain storms??? PUDDLES!!! The only problem with that is that Chase's old boots had some cracks and Max thinks his tennis shoes are just fine for the water.

So, tonight, Daddy and I took the boys to Big R and picked out some new boots, though that makes it sound as if it was a simple task :) Here is how it went down. We entered the boot aisle and Chase went straight to the boots he wanted, Daddy grabbed his size, tried them on and done. He didn't even take them off again, he wore them in the store....loved 'em. Mama on the other hand worked with Max who wiggled and screamed about having to try on boots to the point that I said, ok, no problem, no boots for Max. We walked about two aisles over and Max must have been checking out brother's cool boots because suddenly he b-lines back to the boot aisle, grabs a pair of boots just like Chase's and points to his feet. Dan and I were a little in shock at this point. Then we started to look for Max's size and we couldn't find it. I did find his size in the navy blue boots, but oh no, Max pitched a fit and threw those boots down the aisle. Daddy is frantically looking and looking for Max's size in the camo boots and wouldn't you know it, in the very back, behind all of the other boxes was Max's size. Just like it was waiting there for him. He put them on, pointed at his brother's boots and then took off to go see the baby chicks : )
