Stunt Man

You won't find any pictures with this post and for a very good reason. My son Max is MUCH to brave for his own good. I am learning quickly all of the things that we can't leave out and about in our house.....case in point:

#1- Last week I was sitting in the living room playing blocks with Chase and Max decided to go wondering into the kitchen. This is a normal thing for Max to do and he usually opens a cupboard and pulls out the pots & pans or knocks every magnet on the fridge to the floor. Well on that day, I heard an unfamiliar sound, so I walked into the kitchen to find Max standing on the door of the dishwasher hanging on to the top rack and pulling out all of the cups. I froze because I didn't want to scream and scare him into letting go. I considered grabbing my camera, but thought the safest thing to do was to grab him and return him safely to the ground. Lesson learned: NEVER leave the dish washer open, not even a crack.

#2- Earlier this week the boys and I were snuggled up watching morning cartoons on my bed. Max got bored and decided to go wondering. He headed for the kitchen again and knowing that the dish washer was closed, I felt ok with that. About a minute or so later I thought I would go check on him. I walk into the kitchen to find Max had pulled out the drawer below the oven and climbed up on it so that he was standing on the one inch edge of the drawer and he was reaching for the water bottle that was up on the counter. Again, frozen shock and horror. Lesson learned: NEVER leave Max alone in the kitchen.... at all!

#3- This morning I am doing laundry and Max is crawling around in the bathroom with me (our laundry is in the bathroom upstairs). I turned my back for one second and he was up on Chase's stool brushing his teeth. This is my baby that can't quite walk yet and he has managed to climb up gracefully onto this stool, grab the tooth brush and start brushing. Lesson learned: Never turn my back on this little guy : )

I wish I had the pictures for proof because you would see Max grinning from ear to ear from being proud of his accomplishments.

Fly Boys

Chase & Max's cousin Kayden turned 3 last weekend and for his birthday we got to do such a fun thing. Kayden loves airplanes, so he invited all of us to the Ellensburg Airport to watch airplanes fly in and out and we even got to sit in them. Pretty cool stuff. Unfortunately you won't see any pics of the birthday boy as he was having a camera shy day, but here are some of Chase and Joe enjoying the experience.

Chase excited about spotting a plane coming in.

I just thought this was a cool picture.
All of the guys in one shot with the exception of Papa.

A good day....

(Ok , so I have talked about my rocky relationship with Blogger and rather than just not posting this blog, please understand the reverse order.....)

Last Sunday Dan took Chase fishing for the first time. They had a really great time and Chase caught about four fish which thrilled them both. I think Chase's favorite part of the day, according to his dad, was playing with the worms in the little styrafoam cup before they became fish bait :)

After fishing and a good nap, the boys headed over to my parent's house for a dip in the pool. Due to the cold weather it was our first swim of the year and it was nice to get in and splash around. It turns out we have another water baby, as Max loved being in the water and even jumping in from a sitting position off of the side.

Memorial Day Weekend....

We were goofy....
We wrestled with Uncle Theo....

We were very very goofy with cousin Joe....
We woke up at the crack of dawn on Sunday morning....

We danced the polka with Grandma Karen....

We played Go Fish with cousin Taya....

We put our feet up and relaxed a while....

We walked all over the yard with Savannah....

And, we swam in the river....
But maybe not in that exact order : ) And it was a LOT of fun!

Sleeping & Walking

On the Chase front, here is a snippet from a conversation we had during a walk the other night:

Dan: Wow, I thought Max (who is in his stroller) would be asleep by now.
Corey: There is just too much action to miss out on.
Chase: (Sitting on Dan's shoulders) Yah Dad. The dogs are barking, the cows are mooing and the chickens are chickening :)

Now onto Max news.....Max is now about 10 1/2 months old and he is yet to sleep through the night without one or two bottles on a regular basis. So far he has slept through the night on April Fool's Day (I believe as a not so funny prank) and on the night before my birthday (so thoughtful : ) Well he did it again last night and since there was no holiday or other good reason, here's hoping it is the start of a trend!!!
